Since 1984, Rockton Christmas walk has been a yearly event held in the quaint village of Rockton, Illinois. Many mark this event with anticipation, as the beginning of the Christmas season. This three-day event takes place the first weekend in December and is filled with Christmas activities and events catering to all.

This quaint village transcends time, as you feel like you have walked back to a place where Victorian dress was the norm. You can almost smell the rising scent of chestnuts and holly in the air as you visit a unique shopping district.

Here, you will find Frosty, Rudolph, and happy elves roaming the streets handing out treats to the children, as jolly Santa visits with those who whisper their desires for Christmas in his ear. One can sense the delight from the faces of the young and old strolling down Main street. On Saturday night, the crowds gather for the famous Lighted Christmas Parade, bringing thousands of festive onlookers to partake in this popular event during Christmas Walk. During the entire weekend, it isn't rare to see vehicles parked downtown with their freshly cut Christmas tree from local tree farms, as the family ends their holiday weekend shopping with a cup of hot chocolate and dinner from any one of our fine restaurants. Or finishing some of their shopping right at the craft fair.

On Sunday, The Stateline's Got Talent show provides a stage for local talents to show their skills. It offers a family- friendly afternoon of fun for viewers of all ages. Spectators enjoy watching a variety of talents while choosing from foods and beverages from local participating restaurants.

Many non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses receive the push that is needed on this weekend to set their fund-raising or sales goals for the year.

This event draws thousands each year from all across Illinois and Wisconsin. So, what is Rockton Christmas Walk? It's family, it's celebration, it's the kick off of the holiday season. But most importantly, it's all about community!
